A: I am not sure what your question is but I will try to give you some useful information. After an injury on the job and you report it to your employer it has a duty to report the injury to the insurance carrier. Even if you plead with the employer not to report the injury it must still report it, or it could waive its rights. It is not your duty to report the injury to the carrier. Once you report the duty to your employer your reporting duty is finished.

After that you must seek medical help. If you sought medical through your health insurance that does not foreclose filing a wc claim. You probably were required to pay co-pays or a deductible so it would be better to file a wc claim. I hope your medical provider states in the record how you were injured and that it was at work? Many times that is excluded bc if it is work related health insurance may not have to pay. File your claim with DWC to make sure you have your wc claim filed.
