Mechanicsburg, PA asked in Medical Malpractice for Pennsylvania

Q: 46 yo female-presented to the ER with episodes of vtach that were coming on strong-pulse 250-blood pressure very low

-symptoms were coming every minute or two-I let the ER know I had a tumor in my heart that was dx 25 yrs ago but was asymptomatic-I was almost passing out every episode-the nurse did an EKG it was abnormal but I was not in distress at that point-I told her to wait a minute to do EKG during an episode when my heart races, palpitations and fast heart rate-she told me to let her do her job-did not do another and had me wait in the ER for four hours-vtach often leads to sudden cardiac death-as soon as I got back to my room I was coding-they had to get the crash cart etc- I had seconds to say goodbye to my children bc they didn't expect me to survive-they were able to stabilize me-I had to have an ICD surgically placed which would have shocked me if my heart stopped, had heart-failure and ended up having a heart transplant. I almost died bc of the carelessness of that nurse-Instead of listening to me she assumed I was having an anxiety attack. I did not have heart failure before. Med Malp?
