Q: Just lost my job. Trial to modify custody/child support is over, waiting for judge's verdict for 3 months. What to do?
With this said, I filed a motion to modify child support as soon as I was laid off. Normally when you file a motion to modify the court issues summons in a couple of days. They haven't so far. Will the judge calls us back before he gives his decision on the prior petition and take in new evidence or will give give is verdict and we get to do the modification as a whole new action?
A: You should contact the clerks office at the court where you filed the motion and find out what happened to your case. You should have a hearing on the prior petition or merge the two petitions into one order.
