Q: I have a property held as an LLC. The tenant has failed to pay their first months rent now -have give 5 day notice
Do I need to hire a lawyer to file an Unlawful Detainer
A: While the law in Virginia does not require you to have an attorney file an Unlawful Detainer "UD"), it is my experience that an attorney who knows what must be claimed in the UD will get you the best outcome and will be money well spent. After the first court date and if there is are pleadings ordered and a trial set by the Judge, the LLC (as the Landlord/Plaintiff) will be required to have an attorney represent it before the Court. If you are searching for an attorney, I will be happy to discuss the matter with you, and the representation. 703-684-2000 is my office telephone.
