Rockville, MD asked in Family Law, Criminal Law and Domestic Violence for Maryland

Q: If a verbally abusiv family member shows up at your house uninvited and refuses to leave and repeats, is it harrassment?

This immediate family member has repeatedly verbally and emotionally attacked me. They have showed up to my house after I asked not to, and refused to leave. They make threats to show up at my children's sports activities and it drives my anxiety and stress. They are manipulative and minimize my decision to not have contact with them. They constantly dismiss my requests to leave me alone and continue to send multiple texts and emails, phone calls calling me names, attacking my faith, and threatening to come to house and have threatened to go around to my neighbors and talk about my not wanting to be in contact with her. She causes me extreme anxiety and stress that has caused physical ailments. I don't know what to do to make it stop, because she won't respect mine or my husbands numerous requests to leave us alone. In fact, she will lie and say we never asked her to leave us alone!! She makes me feel like I'm losing my mind. Help!! Is there anything legally I can do?
