Q: I paid a lawyer to file for my divorce but he hasn't served her and the 90 days are about to close in. What do I do?

I retained a lawyer back in march abd he didn't file until june but only sent certified mail but hasn't sent a process server or sheriff and I'm out of money what do I do?

It sounds like your best bet at this point is to reach out to your attorney and ask him what the status of the situation is. It could be that your spouse is not easily served, meaning that their address is not a good address, or that they are evading service. Either way, you deserve a clear answer about what is happening with your case. Rest assured, though, that before the court dismisses your complaint for divorce, a notice is sent way in advance that your case is in danger of being administratively dismissed.

The long and short is: talk to your attorney. If you are not getting the services that you believe you are entitled to or if your attorney is perhaps overwhelmed, you always have the right to seek a second opinion or shop around for an attorney who may be a better fit for you.
