Boca Raton, FL asked in Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Gov & Administrative Law and Civil Rights for Florida

Q: I want to sue the city hall due of a wrong information provide to me that are bring me a lot loss.

Before I sign my lease i went to cityhall to ask if the place (store) is okay to i open my kind of business. I told them that i want to make sure that before sign the lease. They take around 30 minutes looking for information about the address i gave to them and then they come back and told me "YES", you can open this kind of business there. I told them that i want to make sure about it before sign the lease and again, they told me: “YES", just go, sign the lease and come back here to enter with the papers to get the license.

7 days after that, the inspections were in the store and told me that, to open my kind of business there i need a permit to "assembly of occupancy" and to do that i need do a lot changes in the place that will be so expensive to me and to the landlord.

Then, when i come back to talk with whom give me the positive answer before I signed the contract, they just tell me "I AM SORRY, IS BETTER YOU GO OUT OF THIS CONTRACT NOW". What? this is not easy. I NEED A LAWYER

A: This appears to be a duplicate question. You need to go a sit down with an attorney in your area. There is absolutely no way for an attorney to help you via this online forum. If you have a case, a lawyer will need to file the case in the Boca Raton area or the county where the property is located. Your best bet is to have an attorney within that location to handle the case.
