Mundelein, IL asked in Insurance Defense and Traffic Tickets for Illinois

Q: My driving record shows "supervision" for a ticket. Can my car insurance raise my premium?

I contacted my insurance and all they see is a ticket on my record. It does not tell them it is "supervision". They told me to send them my DMV driving record. My question is: does supervision = the insurance can legally increase my premium?

A: The insurance company will not see supervision on the general abstract. That only shows up on court purposes abstract.

A: Insurance companies can increase your premiums for any reason they want. You and the Insurance company have a contractual agreement and whatever that contact says controls. If you are not happy with your insurance company you are free to enter into an agreement with another insurance company.
