Q: Involved in a car accident with an illegal driver in June 2016. Car was totaled and I was out thousands? Do I sue?
In June 2016 I was involved in a car accident with an underage permitted driver. The young lady was driving illegally and ran a stop sign into my car. The police reported only to the 3 underage girls once they arrived, never taking my statement. On the report it states the girls said I was on my phone which would have been impossible for them to see because my phone attached to my car once started. The insurance companies stated that she was at fault for the accident. Which allows me to receive a small pay out for my car. Which was used to pay for the car loan. I was pregnant at the time and had a lot on my plate with that, a new job, and now no means of transportation. I was out thousands for loss of work and getting back and forth using different means of transportation. Is it worth it to sue at this point? I am still attempting to catch up to the point I was out before this event? Car accident took place in Nj.
