Pontiac, MI asked in Traffic Tickets for Michigan

Q: I got a warning ticket but it shows I still have a hearing date, do I have to go to it?

it was originally for speeding but he bumped it down to impeding traffic and all he said was go up there and talk to them, so I'm confused what to do

A: If the ticket is clearly marked as a warning, and there are no other charges on the ticket, then no, you don't have to go to court, and the "appear on or before" date was just pre-printed on the ticket. BUT, if it is a charge for Impeding, and the box marked C/I, beside where it says Impeding is marked, then yes, you do have to go to court, or pay it online, by that date. It sounds like the officer gave you a break , but not a complete pass on the speeding violation. Sincerely, Frank B. Ford
