Q: My husband is paying his daughter's mom child support but she lives with him how does he stop this?
She is in jail her mother that is and has been for over 6 months and is still receiving the child support because it's taken out of my husband's check but does not see the child at all the child support was also ordered in court over 6 years ago
A: Pretty simple. He goes to the court that issued the child support order and says, there is a material change in circumstances and HE wants custody of the child. If not, the child support is or can be directed to whomever is taking care of his child. IN any event, he has to pay child support unless and until he has custody of the child or until she is 19
