A: Well, you should contact the court as soon as possible and find out what the status of the ticket is and what your options are for what to do next. It could be that the court has not yet entered a default and sent that to the Secretary of State, which would then suspend your driver's license. Depending on what the charge actually is (and I think it would be interesting for the officer or prosecutor to show you where in the Motor Vehicle Code such an amorphous charge exists), you may be able to negotiate with the prosecutor. It is also possible that the particular police department and court uses that language for a charge that they don't send to the Secretary of State if you pay it (but they might send it if you don't take care of it). You may want to consult with a traffic attorney in the area where you got the ticket. Sincerely, Frank B. Ford
