Chesapeake, OH asked in Child Custody for Ohio

Q: I live in Ohio and my ex boyfriend wants me to have our child take a dna test.

I don’t want child support. I just want him to leave us alone. He’s crazy and I’m scared he’ll hurt my child. I have my other boyfriends name on my child’s birth certificate. Can I refuse the test?

A: If he files for a DNA test and the court orders it, then you must comply. If he is proven to be the father, he can file for parental rights, and the court will probably order him to pay child support.
