A: First, understand that Reckless Driving is a crime, not just a ticket you can go pay. If convicted, it will go onto your criminal history record, as well as your driving record. Most courts will require a court appearance on a Reckless Driving charge. It is a six point violation, which is the most that you can get for any type of violation in Michigan. It also results in a three month suspension of your driver's license. It is possible to get it reduced to a less serious offense, with lesser penalties, but that becomes more likely to happen if you retain an experienced traffic attorney. Sincerely, Frank B. Ford
