Asked in Animal / Dog Law for Colorado

Q: I am having a problem with two pit bulls .

They tried to break down my back gate to attack my for small Chihuahuas. About a month ago, one of them got out. 2 pit bulls attacked her she's a 14 week old puppy. They almost got my dad in the process, they have 20 count against them. How much longer until they are put down? They got out again on the 15th of December. They made a beeline straight to my house. Right to my gate. In my driveway. They're targeting my puppies. If they manage to get into my yard. And I shoot them will, I go to jail for that.

A: They probably won't get destroyed because they have not bitten anyone or attacked your dogs yet. Keep your dogs inside and don't leave them unattended in your yard. Call the police or animal control every time they get out, they might impound them if they are a danger. I never advise anyone to try to shoot a dog. You could kill a person instead and then you would go to jail.
