A: Thanks for your question. You should refer to the terms of your lease for how and when your rent payments are supposed to be made. Assuming your landlord is coming to your door or texting you because you're habitually late, realize that your landlord can file a complaint to evict you. Tenants have a duty to pay rent and landlords have the right to collect it.
