Q: What can I do for this traffic violation?
I received a citation regarding a violation, where I accelerated at an intersection with yellow turning to red and by the time I started crossing, it was already red. There was already a huge truck that was turning left along with me in the parallel lane but I was charged with the violation. I am charged with G.S.20-158(B)(2). This is in Raleigh, North Carolina near 70 and brier creek parkway. The amount of fine/Penalty says $50 and costs are $188. Total is $238. I received a speeding citation back in 2013 and after that my driving record is clean. What are my options in this situation?
A: I recommend hiring a traffic attorney who practices in Wake County; you do have options here, particularly with a record like yours. I don't recommend just paying that ticket.
A: You have several options but likely the best is to hire a local traffic attorney. If your address is correct on the ticket you will likely get a crap ton of letters from traffic attorney's - you do not need F. Lee Bailey for a mere Red Light violation so throw away the expensive ones, find the cheapest one and roll with that.
