Trenton, FL asked in Car Accidents for Florida

Q: I let my friend drive my truck. He was hit by a commercial truck and totaled my truck.

The commercial truck was cited with the accident but my friend was cited for "unknowingly driving on a suspended license". Will this affect my claim for damages to my truck? What kind of lawyer do I need?

A: Not sure if his driving with a suspended license will affect your claim.

First step is to make a claim against the commercial truck's insurance and your own if you have full coverage. (if no full coverage then make a claim to the commercial trucks insurance).

Most personal injury attorneys will assist you with property damages cases when you have an injury associated with the accident. since you were not injured I really cannot say in an injury attorney would assist in this case or not. An injury attorney would be the most knowledgeable about this type of case.

Good luck,
