Q: How do I find out what is in my parents will since my mother won't show me and my father is dead. They made it together

A: I am uncertain as to whether you are referring to a joint Will or two single Wills. As I am not providing you with specific legal advice, I can just speak generally about a person's right to see another's Will. Basically, a person has no obligation to turn over a copy of their own Last Will and Testament to anyone. We have children of our own clients that call our firm asking for a copy of their parent's documents and we cannot release them without the parent's permission.

Upon your mother's death, you would be entitled to see a copy of the Will as you are one of her "next of kin" as that term is defined under Alabama law.
