Q: My sister is being shady. Home once owned by my decesed father and paid off with accident settlement/ estate money
Getting ready to close the sell. She will not forward any paperwork and is saying word of mouth and the bank is closing. Nor will she give me the user name and password for the estate cking account. My father did not have a will..we trusted her. Hindsight. Come to find out tonight looking up the address that Home is in her name. I’m wanting to place a lien on it so the closing could not go through until we get finished with probate. Can I do that? I’m in Florida the property is in Georgia also where my sisters are
A: This isn't a family law question. You need to contact a probate attorney.
A: If the house is in her name, it is not a part of the estate. Your would do well to contact an attorney in Georgia to review the facts with you and give you an opinion on whether the estate, or you as an heir, has a claim for fraud.
