Q: Can I smoke marijuana if on probation,it's legal in my state

A: It really depends on your probation officer and more importantly, the terms of your probation. If it is a condition of your probation that you remain drug and alcohol free, you better stay clean. They can order that you don't drink, even though drinking is legal. They can do the same with marijuana. If you really need to smoke and you have concerns, I recommend getting a medical marijuana card and then addressing it with your probation officer. Remember, they have the power to ruin your life if they want to. Keep he or she on good terms.
