Q: I'm being denied my rights as a father to talk to or even see my kids. How do I get physical custody from the mother?

I am trying to get custody of my kids due to the fact that the mother of my kids will not co-parent and never intended on doing so. I pay child support and is 100% of my kids income, but I don't have a number to reach them or an address. I can only contact them through calling the school. She was specifically told on the day that we had the agreement signed that she would have to cooperate and disclose all information. She said she would but I knew she wouldn't. I've been denied my rights for 4 years now and my son's behavior in school has gone drastically negative. In order to get physical custody of the children I need some advice, because I can no longer take being denied my rights as a father, while the mother receives compensation for betrayal of my children's trust. I have not filed any contempt paperwork or any legal paperwork because the last lawyer just sat and watch this custody unfold without lifting a finger.Once it was over he asked for another $5,000. I'm ready to fight.

A: Don't understand how you waited 4 years. If your last lawyer did nothing, send a fax or certified maIL requesting refund of unused funds. Hire a family law attorney to file for contempt.and change in custody based on alienation and secreting your children.

A: If you're not happy with your current attorney, which it sounds as if you're not, you should contact another attorney that handles custody matters. The new attorney can get your file from your old attorney and assist you in obtaining a refund of any unearned fees. A good, aggressive attorney can review the current custody & visitation papers, file a Rule for Contempt if one is warranted, and assist you in getting more rights. Give me a call and I'll be happy to discuss your options further.
