Los Angeles, CA asked in Landlord - Tenant for California

Q: Tenant for 12 yrs in apt, dom partner died mo ago. LL trying verbally demanding she leave, what are rights?

She speaks and understands very limited English and is a Russian descent. Landlord has verbally demanded that she give up apartment and vacate. Landlord comes and goes as he pleases without pre notice to tenant and has started to enter apartment to do repairs including remodeling a bathroom removing the drywall Etc. Tenant does not understand her rights but has received no written notice to vacate. They allowed her to use deposit last month to pay for the rent due and she now owes current month, LL is using this as a reason to force her out. Landlord is basically harassing her for the legal definition of landlord harassment. In the past for domestic partner provided services tenant landlord regarding maintenance repairs and installations. What rights does she have and is this legal to do? What should her next step be?
