Q: How can I get a free or low-cost assessment on patent infringement?
A: It looks like you don't have to worry about that patent. According to https://portal.uspto.gov/pair/PublicPair, Patent US 6,621,502 expired due to nonpayment of maintenance fees under 37 CFR 1.362

A:
Step one is you should monitor this patent in Public PAIR. https://portal.uspto.gov/pair/PublicPair
As of October 9, 2015 US Patent No 6621502 for Method and System for Decoupled Audio and Video Presentation went abandoned for failure to pay a maintenance fee.
The patent owner filed a petition on September 13, 2017 to have the PTO accept a late payment of the maintenance fee and reinstate the abandoned patent. From the PAIR records, it appears that this petition was dismissed on February 27, 2018. The actual PDFs are not available for this older patent. You may want to pay to have the records for this patent obtained and emailed to you.
It is very possible that the patent owner may try again with a new revised petition if their first petition was dismissed based on format rather than substance.
I do not know someone that does the heavy lifting to compare a product with a set of patent claims for possible infringement for free.
I hope that this response helps.
