Atlanta, GA asked in Car Accidents for Georgia

Q: What happens to medical bills on a settlement lien if no settlement is obtained?

I was in an automobile accident at work.I was not at fault.I called an attorney and asked if I could get payment for my injuries from the at fault parties insurance, that I don't want to do workers comp or go after my works insurance.I was told that is OK and hired the attorney. The attorney sent me to an ortho doctor on a lien on settlement. Now that I'm done with treatment the attorney told me the at fault drivers insurance will not pay that I need to take workers comp and get pain and suffering from my works insurance for the attorney to keep the case.I do not want to do that. What will happen with the medical bills on lien if the attorney drops my case?I've gotten myself into a pickle......

A: Why not take workers comp? Here's the problem--under many state's rules the other person isn't repsonsible for bills that should be covered by your insurance or insurance you can get by application such as workers comp. You need to sit down in person for an explanation.
