Q: Need help concerning a trust fund college fundHow do get information
1. I have a college savings account in my name and guarded by my father. This account has been open since the day I was born and has had money deposited over my life by multiple family members and close friends of the family. I have never been allowed to know the amount of the money or terms of the account. The account was opened by my paternal grandparents who deposited a minimum of $1000 dollars per year that I was alive and possibly a thousand for the number of years I have been alive until my grandfather passed 11 years ago. Ex: 2000 for 2yr 3000 for 3 yr and so on until 15. I am aware of one year of rent at 450 p/m for approximately 1 year was paid during my first semester of college. I have also been on my father’s insurance and he supposedly took money from the account to pay medical bills that were not covered by the insurance that he has for me. I am currently attending college and accruing debt from student loans.
A: Evidently your father is the trustee. Have you asked him for an accounting?

The first step would be to obtain s copy of the trust. However it appears that your father is not or does not want to share that info with you. So you will likely have to hire an attorney to make a legal request for the documents. (Practically that may put extra strain on your relationship with your dad).
Good luck and hope this helps.
