Florham Park, NJ asked in Immigration Law for New Jersey

Q: I and my minor son are permanent resident. Applying for citizenship.

I and my son are permanent resident. When I apply for citizenship, how do I apply for him. I filled my form and provided my son's details when asked in the N-400. Do I have to fill N-400 separately for him?

A: I suggest you have a lawyer do the paperwork for you, even a simple mistake on your N-400 can prevent you from obtaining citizenship with even the possibility of lifetime bar. The value of the benefit is to high not to spend a few thousand dollars to make sure everything is right and you have the best chance of being a citizen.
