Q: Hello. My sister want to give her all her rights with the kids. I know we have to go through the court system. I want

To know do we have to involve there father? He is on child support. He is absent in there life. He has visitation on Sunday which he doesn’t come. Can we get a judge to sign off privately or how does that process work for Louisiana?

A: This would be what's called an intrafamily adoption. It's possible that his consent may not be required, but he would either have to sign a consent to the adoption or be served with notice. Give me a call and I'll be happy to discuss the procedure further and the possible cost.
