Q: Can a landlord break a lease to remodel a apartment with a only a 30 day notice?

We are currently in a lease until August we have lived in the apartment since August 2016. The apartment complex left a note on the door last night that told us that we have to be out by June 1st, due to the apartment being renovated. The offered us to stay in the complex with a $500 credit towards the 1st months rent. They are breaking the lease shouldn't they be paying moving expenses as well? and a 60 days notice since we have lived there for over a year?

A: No, not based on what you have stated here. If you have a lease which does not end until July 31st, you are legally allowed to stay until then. The landlord will just have to wait until your lease ends to renovate your unit. Talk to an attorney about your best course of action.
