Q: I pay 800 dollars a month child support on my 2 children to Tennessee based on Military pay 11 yrs ago.
I have asked Tennessee to amend my support for the last 8 years based on my current job but they refuse me every time saying they are going to leave it like it is even though my current job is half the Military pay I was making 11 yes ago. I have also asked if they could add in the fact that I also support 3 other children but I am flat out denied. Is this legal?
A: You should go to the court that set the child support originally (either Kentucky or Tennessee) and make a motion to reduce your child support based on a change of circumstances. The state that set the support is the only place it can be reduced.
