Q: We're based in the UK and looking to cash purchase our first home in Florida . Do we need an ITIN in order to close?
We are based in the UK and we have just had an offer accepted on a property in Florida which has now gone to contract. The person selling the property is also a foreign national and not a US-resident. Do we, as buyers, require an ITIN number in order to proceed with the close? Or can we close on the arranged date without one? Many thanks for your time.

Hopefully you are closing through a licensed title company or title attorney. If so ask them. If not. You should consult with a title attorney to make sure that the closing is done correctly.
