Hayward, CA asked in Criminal Law for California

Q: I was accused of stealing $1,000 from my employer. I never did it, and they had no evidence. I'm getting worried

I was put on suspension, and wrote down to LP that I didn't do it on paper and signed it. I haven't heard back from them for 2 months now. I currently have another job. But I'm getting worried if they will still do anything?

A: First, it's best to retain an attorney in case you are charged or arrested. It's also important to not talk about this case to anyone except your attorney. I'm glad you didn't admit to anything. I would get an attorney on retainer and then keep my head down and work when suspension is over. You could also look for another job if you want. However, never talk to anyone about this, even to LP or your bosses. You've denied taking anything and that is all. Anymore stories will poke holes and lead to a trap you can't get out of.
