Fort Worth, TX asked in Federal Crimes for Kentucky

Q: MY son in the Lexington Fayette County detention center, he has state charges and now informed have a federal hold

His case was sent to the grand jury dismissed 1 charge then rtn to district court he was never served and on another charged pick up on 26 Apr; (threat via twitter) he want to dis court on 2 may nothing said given another date 17 may then moved until 2 Aug due to the fed charge. he has been in the facility for over 6 months come 27 may. Next court date is 29 may federal court but he has not been served or informed. I called and I was informed he do have an attorney and she did inform him when he appeared in court on the 17 if he had known on the charge. the issues I have is the courts said he could be released on 3rd party by his aunt she did the paper work the only to find out he could not be released at 1000 hours on the 18 may. Is there a site that can be used to follow the federal charges, why the deputies and inmate services did not proved him with the with the new charge that I will only assume after the 26 Apr, after he was back in dist crt on 2 may. no info on 29 may crt date

A: The state charges are completely separate and unrelated to the federal charges because the state and federal governments are separate sovereigns. Even if he was ordered released on the state charges, the federal hold will keep them from releasing him. There is no website for Federal charges or tracking federal cases. You can call the Federal District Court Clerks Office in Lexington and they can give you the details on the Federal case.
