Q: my mothers home now has a foreclosure sale date of June 26th. How long from that date do I have to get out.

My mother has passed and her home was in foreclosure. I still live in the home just need to know how long after the sale date i have to get out.

A: A few months. However, you can approach the buyer and agree to a move out date. This avoids the buyer having to do an eviction. The sooner you leave, the more you can get in a settlement. Not a lot, but enough to make a deposit on the next thing.

A: It all depends what happens after the sale. If the bank owns the property, things are different than if someone else buys the property at auction.

If your mother tries to postpone the auction, then the time line goes out even further. You should have your mother talk to an attorney to review the case, and talk about the options that your mother has.
