A: No, this is not true. The State of Arizona will not annul a marriage unless one of the parties requests an annulment by filing a Petition with the Superior Court and serves notice upon the other party. You will remain legally married until there is an Order from the Superior Court dissolving the marriage relationship.

A: In Arizona, I have never heard of any arm of the State (including a Court) annulling any marriage, with or without notice, of its own accord.

To the best of my knowledge, the Court would only consider annulment upon on spouse filing a Petition for Annulment and meeting the requirements to qualify for an Order for Annulment, including a showing that an impediment to the marriage exists.
