Q: What charges can a dog that was sold that wasnt theres can be?
Yes verbal contract to hold dog until we can have him back. Was sold on craigslist. Found out the person is a dog flipper. The dog was a 3yo male doxie that was black and tan dapple. Person lied about his name called him bandit instead of bam bam. Need help to put person in jail. So what charges can be filed. Also the dog is a therapy dog.
A:
Theft by deception, at the very least. Contact the local police department for the city in which the dog-flipper lives and file a report. It's possible the police will try to persuade you to sue the person in small claims court, but be persistent and ask that criminal charges be brought. You may not be successful, but you'll never get unless you ask.
Best of luck to you.
