Louisville, KY asked in Child Support for Kentucky

Q: Child support.

My boyfriend and i are expecting. But his one night stand had produced a child with another girl. We think its not his because of a few circumstances but lets say he takes the DNA test and its his. Were both 18. Shes 16. Were moving to new mexico soon but the mom still lives here in kentucky. We are two teenagers trying to survive with just one baby. Shes also acting crazy on top of that. Is there any way to just make her go away? Can he not pay child support? Will moving cause issues? We have been planning to move for months now.

A: If the child is his, there is no way to just make her go away short of terminating his parental rights(if that is even possible). If the child is his, he will have to pay child support unless the mother does not pursue it (which is highly unlikely). It should not cause a moving issue for him or you, you will simply have to deal with it long distance.
