Louisville, KY asked in Domestic Violence and Family Law for Kentucky

Q: Child visitation

A few years ago my fiancee had a restraining order placed on him by his childs mother. The order was placed even without a valid reason to have it placed. At that time he was trying to acertain visitation with his daughter , and the judge in question did not review his side of the story at all. She did not review the letters written on his behalf the lack of any violent history on his part as well. His caase was overturned at one point BUT the judge still placed another restraining order upon him on the childs mothers behalf with very little questioning of her story. He has been unable to visit his child for a few years due to this restraining order and hasnt got the funds to fight this. The case is in another county as well making it difficult to fight too. He has a court appearence on the matter on the 19th of this month. We need help. He loves his daughter very very much and we are frightened that her mother has completely poisened her against her father.

A: Your fiancé needs to hire a competent family lawyer in the county where the case is currently to file the appropriate motions for him to be able to see the child.
