Q: 25 yr marriage in Florida. Gave up career. Raised his 3 children. Divorce recently. Received nothing. Pls help.
Last year's of marriage, both worked & invested approx. 150,000 in historical home. Rather than sell and split profit, he let house be foreclosed on and my car be repossessed. I am 58, health problems, no home (live with elderly mom), no car since 2015 which severely limits ability for income. I had no money for attorney at final hearing...represented self. Presented enormous amounts of info in hopes of court making fair decision. Only awarded name change & divorce. Now am responsible for 25,000 owed on 2nd mortgage. He lied repeatedly under oath, judge did not enforce court order that required him to produce financial documents. I have no option, will have to file bankruptcy. Has Florida law regarding long term marriage been followed? Do I have any legal recourse? Can you help me please? I have lived in Huntsville Alabama since 2014. Marriage and divorce was in Bay County .
