Grayson, KY asked in Divorce for Kentucky

Q: Followup: Divorce not final and quitclaim deed not file...

He will send out the final divorce papers on August 11 (60 days after filing). The plan was to transfer ownership once the divorce was final and signed by the judge. I'm gathering that might not have been a good plan. She signed the Martial Settlement Agreement and an Entry of Appearance and Waiver is this enough? I am also assuming that if she will not sign a QuitClaim Deed then she will have to be taken to court which in that case could reverse their settlement agreement depending on the judge's decision if done prior to the final decree? Since her name is on the deed then I'm also assuming that he cannot prevent her from coming back home? What would you suggest? Thank you so much for your response.

A: You’ve just described much of what can and will go wrong in a diy divorce. Get your brother to a lawyer in your county where he can at least be explained and understand his Orion’s. Much I’ll able to salvage if he moves fast.....
