Q: I called a company to deliver 8 tons of cheap gravel for $130. When they arrived, they claimed it was $130 per ton.$1024

I called a company to get 8 tons of crush and go gravel delivered and spread down my alley. I called other places and received a quote of $230 for 8 tons of this gravel to be delivered and dropped slowly down the alley but not spread. This company said they would deliver and spread it for $130. We agreed verbally and I have a text message regarding it. When they arrived, they said it was a misunderstanding and that it was $130 per ton. They said that I owe them $1024. I know that I should have sent them away but I was so flustered. I told them that I did not have this kind of money. He asked for a paper and wrote an IOU and took down information for my drivers license. What kind of case do I have? Also landscapers and stone companies have looked at the pictures of the truck with the gravel in it before and he was dumped and they all claim that it is not ate tons. They are saying it’s closer to 3 to 5 tons. What can I do? This company says I owe them that much money because I signe

A: If you took the delivery and signed for it, you are obligated to pay for it.
