Q: I was granted sole custody of my son (the mother moved to Alabama ) how do I get Alabama to recongize my court order ?
The mother moved under false pretenses told me she was just going to visit family my son has lived with me and her for 15 months in my current residence in Texas she moved and blocked all form of communication with me and would not let me even FaceTime my son she told me to take her to court if I wanted to see my son so that’s what we did and the judge granted me sole custody until she can make some changes for the better with her life (pass a drug test, take coparentunf class) we went to Alabama to get my son on August 11th and she was no where to be found with my son she messaged me on my way back from Alabama and told me the court orders I got were void and if I wanted to see him I would have to go to court in Alabama (even though my son STILL hasn’t been in Alabama for 6 months consecutively) and I already went to court I don’t want to repeat this process it was very stressful and costed me a lot of money. I’m ready to get my son back I have certified orders from Texas please help
A: You would move the court in Alabama to Domesticate the foreign order. SHe is wrong in what she is telling you. GO to the Court which issued the custodial order, get an order that she must return the child to you. You need legal help here.
