Q: In Louisiana can u file for custody before divorce I have 2 toddlers & need something in writing so he can’t keeo my kid
My husband is a narcissist it’s going to be dirty and nasty and he’s going to try and keep my kids from me. I don’t want them to be kept from him I just don’t want him to be able to keep them from me. I just need to know how to go about getting something in writing before the divorce stating a custody agreemaent.
A: You need a divorce attorney to file for both custody and divorce. Louisiana only has ex parte custody in emergency situations (substance abuse, neglect, physical abuse, etc) because parents have equal rights.
