Lake Worth, FL asked in Traffic Tickets for Florida

Q: I found out today that my Florida driver license was suspended due to 5 traffic fines dated between 11/2016 and 01/2017

Found while trying to reinstate due to child support. The problem is that i sold the vehicle to a friend while i was living in Tennessee and no longer had possession of the car. I have signed bill of sale by both myself and buyer. She evidently had abandoned it in lee county and left my tag on it. I was never notified and had no clue this had happened. I never lived in lee county and was currently living in Tennessee during that time. Recently i moved back to palm beach county and trying to get license reinstated. How do i go about clearing these violations and failures to pay since i had sold vehicle and was not the one who left car abandoned? What is best solution to get cleared up?

A: A assume that the five tickets were parking tickets for the car, incurred after you thought you sold it.

Unfortunately, when you sell a car you are obligated to immediately notify the DMV of the sale, in order to prevent something like this from happening. The ticketing authority has no idea who you sold the car to if you haven't done that. Since you didn't do so, you are liable for the tickets; you are probably going to have to pay them.
