Q: If charged with follow too closely and failure to stop for a school bus be upgraded to a felony during an accident.

Had an accident with a school bus while driving an 18 wheeler. Was cited at the scene for following too closely and failure to stop for school bus. No serious injuries occurred during accident. Go to court and was charged with a felony and sentenced to 2 years. NO DUI AND NO RECKLESS DRIVING charges. Please explain how is this so.

A: What was the felony and why did you plead guilty before talking to a lawyer? Both offenses you listed are misdemeanors (12 month max) and it is possible the court made them run consecutive to each other.
