A: Time to roll up your sleeves and do some work. Here are some tips to get you started.

October 2016 presentation at the RTP Frontier as part of the lecture series for Triangle TechBreakfast. Teaches entrepreneurs on how to perform searches for relevant patent applications and issued patents. http://bit.ly/Patent_Searching

Note that some patent applications in the pipeline won't be visible yet but doing a search is the commercially reasonable first step. You can contact a patent attorney for help doing a patenability or freedom-to-operate search but I suggest you do some basic looking first.

For the difference between patentability and freedom-to-operate searches please review my slide set at http://bit.ly/Protecting_Advantages .

I hope this helps.
