Q: I was hurt on job in Louisiana working for company from Texas. Which state has jurisdiction to file?

Employer and insurance carrier is telling me Louisiana but rules I read said Texas since Texas company. Insurance said if filed in Texas will deny claim. can They do this?

A: If you were hired or recruited in Texas and then you went to work in Louisiana, Texas would have jusisdiction. You need to speak directly with an attorney to make a final determination on jurisdiction. I don't know if you could file I now Louisiana as well.
