North Bergen, NJ asked in Traffic Tickets for New Jersey

Q: Do I have to pay court fees ?

I was pulled over for feeding stray cats the officer gave me a warning not to do it again but then she asked me for my registration I had a hard time finding it in my wallet at first she left and went back to a patrol car and came back with a ticket when she came back I already had found my registration. She said just go to court and the judge will dismiss the ticket and that's what He did but the court wants to charge me court fees I told them I'm not going to pay that because I did have my registration and no one told me that there was a time limit for me to go search for my registration . So the judge asked me if I want a trial ? So I said yes and in a few days I will be going back to court. Do I have a chance to not pay the court fee ? $33.

A: By law an attorney always has to tell you that you always have a chance, but honestly the officer gave you a break, I would just pay the fine and be done with it not worth your time in court.

A: You're going to get a fine for feeding the cats and the court costs on top of it.
