Gainesville, GA asked in Traffic Tickets for Georgia

Q: Is it possible to avoid suspension of license for a speeding ticket. (Clocked by radar at 24 mph over limit)

Currently 18yrs old and have just recieved my first speeding ticket. I was running late for work so I was not paying attention to my speed which was not smart. The officer gave me a citation that says to appear in court 3 months from now ( Municipal, Georgia.) Or just pay the fine. Since I am under 21 years of age, 4 or more points on my record equals suspension and going 24 mph or more over limit equals 4 points in my state.

A: It is possible, but it will take a lot of work on your part (defensive driving, etc.). I strongly suggest that you hire an attorney who practices in the court where your case is pending. He/she will be able to advise you of the best things to do to help save your license. Good luck.
