Howell, MI asked in Family Law and Juvenile Law for Tennessee

Q: My niece is in a bad living situation. She will be 17 in Feb. Can she legally move out? She lives in Tennessee

They dont have a stove in their trailer that they live in. And they have about 7-10 cats most of which are not fixed and all the pets have fleas and my sister is not treating them. They also have three dogs. The living situation is not good at all. My niece cannot drive yet due to the fact that my sister is unemployed right now and cannot afford drivers training so she cant even get a little job to try and save up money to try and move out or better herself. She is very unhappy and suffers from depression, She is on medication to help with that right now. I cannot help her and it breaks my heart. I have seen where they live and the condition is not good. They have no hot water heater for showers or anything because when they got the trailer it was already in bad shape and needs lots of work which they cannot afford because my sister does not work. She is not even putting that much effort in to try and get another job.
